I ate here for the first time today with a friend who has been here many times. It was fantastic! The food is made fresh to order and served piping hot - huge portions! I had the gyro, the other items I saw them serving looked great too - so I'll be back to try more items. Fortunately they are on my way to work. ;)

I was in Wichita on a business trip and thought I would try Athens Gyro Express via Uber Eats since I didn't have access to transportation from my hotel. I ordered the shawarma bowl, a side salad, and falafel. I was excited to try their falafel which uses fava beans instead of garbanzo beans; this preparation is common in Egypt. Even though it was delivered the falafel were crunchy, well seasoned, and delicious. The chicken shawarma was juicy, succulent, and tasted great. I'm used to shawarma being a little spicier and stronger in flavor which would have been ideal. I'm assuming the restaurant tweaks the recipe to be more palatable in a place like Wichita where people may not be accustomed to the bold flavor of a shawarma spice mix / marinade. My salad was perfect. The ingredients were fresh, crunchy, and the vinaigrette that came with the salad was delicious. The sliced pita served with the salad was grilled, had a hint of garlic, and perfect. You can tell the restaurant pays attention to even the smallest details. I would definitely frequent this restaurant if it were in my own hometown and wish I was able to try even more items. Wichita has a true Gem with Athens Gyros Express and I highly recommend it. This is coming from someone who mixes his own shawarma spice mix and very familiar and loves middle eastern food.

100% recommend! Went out with some friends and tried their gyros, burgers, and shawarma. Everything tastes delicious and the portions were very generous considering the price. Staff are friendly. The entire menu is also HALAL, which was our main reason for visiting!

Good mix of menu options. We had gyros which were two for $10! They were really good, meaty, and the flavors just came together well. We also had Cajun fries and hummus. All great and reasonably priced. Service was also just as great. If you're in the mood for some quick Mediterranean food, Athens won't disappoint.

Simple little place with simple food that's just really good! The owner is a very nice gentleman with a passion to make delicious food at a decent price point. They have a 2 gyro for $10... like full size. Not a bait and switch size, but 2 fully filled regular size gyros! It's only for a limited time though.
